My association with West Lodge Primary began in 2009 when my son started reception, I have been a governor since 2011 and currently chair the Quality and Standards Committee. I am a mixed media artist and an independent sewing and textile teacher. I am passionately interested in the mental well-being of children and, to this end, am studying the use of Art and Making as a therapy to help children and young people.
The role of young people in our communities, and how this is shaped by school and parenting, is very important to me, both practically and intellectually. As such I feel it is important to take an active and strategic role in supporting the work of our school and to help it set and achieve goals which ensure that it continues to improve and develop high standards.
