  • Sustainablity Leading Practice Hub

West Lodge is proud to be a Sustainability Leading Practice Hub, supporting schools to develop meaningful and ambitious approaches to sustainability and climate education.

Drawing on our own journey and experience, we aim to share effective practice, build networks and encourage collaboration, helping schools to embed sustainability within their curriculum, culture and everyday decision-making.

At the heart of our work is a belief that schools can empower children to care for the natural world, make a positive difference and create ripples of change within their communities and beyond.

    Our Focus for 2026–27

This year, the Hub will support schools to develop a strategic, whole-school approach to sustainability, connecting their Climate Action Plans with the ambitions of the Harrow Green4Life Schools Charter.

Across four collaborative sessions, we will explore:

    • Powering a Sustainable Future – energy use and carbon reduction
    • Rethinking Waste and Resources – consumption, waste and the sustainable use of resources
    • Growing Nature, Growing Learners – nature, biodiversity and greener school grounds
    • Travelling Towards a Greener Future – sustainable travel and community action

Throughout the year, schools will have opportunities to share practice, learn from one another and translate ideas into practical action.

The Climate Action Plan and Green4Life Schools Charter provide a golden thread across the programme, helping schools move beyond individual initiatives towards a coherent and lasting culture of sustainability.
