I have lived in Pinner with my husband for nearly 20 years and both my sons, who are teenagers now, went to West Lodge school. I believe that a great start at primary school gives children an excellent grounding for their whole school life and I am delighted to be involved as a Governor in contributing to this forward-thinking school.
I currently co own BrOOK’S in Pinner, with my husband and as a book shop owner one of my greatest pleasures is seeing a child leave the shop with a book they can’t wait to read. Prior to opening BrOOK’S I had a long career in Human Resources working as an HR Director in several sectors including food manufacturing and social housing where my focus was on learning and development. I took a long career break when I had my family and fondly remember the morning walk to school …with all the difficult bits edited out!
I have previously been a Governor of a school in Hillingdon, was a founding member of Harrow Foodbank and I am also involved as a Friend of Pinner Village Gardens.I am passionate about literacy and developing a love of reading in children as well as children’s mental health.
