MAGSSL (MAGS Services Ltd) has resumed the STEM FOR JUNIORS afterschool club for the Summer 2022 term.
The days and times are detailed below:
Years 5 & 6 | Wednesday | 3.30pm – 4.30pm |
Years 3 & 4 | Friday | 3.30pm – 4.30pm |
The classes focus mainly on STEM concepts and applications. The classes focus on guided, hands-on sessions on BBC Microbit using Microsoft MakeCode. The sessions are held in the ICT room. Developing on BBC Micro:Bit, along with its various sensors, by using Microsoft MakeCode enables fun execution of projects with immediate results. It uses both block and text editors for learners at different levels and for creating engaging computer science learning experiences that support a progression path into realworld programming. Exposure and hands on to real world examples are also included. Structured, guided hands-on sessions are delivered in an exciting and enjoyable manner which helps to nurture the understanding of young children in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM).
The fee for the club is £11 per session and there are a total of 10 sessions. Places are assigned on a first come, first served basis.
