I am honoured to be appointed as a co-opted governor at West Lodge Primary School. With three children currently attending the school, I’ve had the privilege of experiencing the school’s nurturing ethos, its inclusive and vibrant community, and the strength of its leadership. I am particularly impressed with how the school not only prioritises educational attainment but also instils values, fosters kindness, curiosity and resilience in its pupils. I am passionate about supporting the school in maintaining these high standards and ensuring that every child continues to thrive.
Professionally, I bring over a decade of experience in public service, currently working as a senior lawyer at the Government’s centre of expertise for corporate governance. My role involves advising on legal issues and strategy, promoting accountability, overseeing performance, and managing risk across a portfolio of public sector organisations. I regularly provide constructive challenge to Boards and committees to ensure governance is effective, and I’ve also helped shape my organisation's diversity and inclusion programme—delivering training to foster a more inclusive culture. I look forward to using these skills in an educational context—supporting the leadership team in setting strategic priorities, ensuring robust oversight of school performance, and helping maintain a culture of transparency and continuous improvement.
