  • Reception News

    Thu 15 Oct 2020
Our new reception children are now full time after an unusual start to their time at West Lodge. After attending two play sessions at the beginning of September, the children began their settling in process and now are in school full time. They have all settled in extremely well and slowly getting used to the new routines of the classroom as well as washing their hands lots!  We have held two parent sessions for our new Parents in supporting their child with the curriculum and reading. We have more planned and for Maths and Writing so please keep an eye out for dates. A big thank you to the Parents and Carers of our new children during the start to the new term and their support and understanding with the settling in process.

  • Sports and House Captain Speeches

    Thu 15 Oct 2020
The speeches for Sport Captain and House Captain were carried out in a very different way this year. Rather than having to face a crowd, the applicants had to face an iPad and talk to a screen. The children adapted well to the new process and there were some impressive speeches and creative ideas. A large number of students put themselves forward for the roles and all of them can be really proud of how they did. Well done to all the children.

  • Y6 Head Boy/Girl

    Wed 14 Oct 2020

Over the first weekend of the school year, our Year 6 pupils were busy writing their letters of application for the position of Head Boy and Head Girl. After listening to some amazing persuasive speeches on the morning of Monday 14th of September, the Year 6 pupils cast their votes during an assembly on the field and Maria Tzanidaki and Kai Kothary were elected as our Head Girl and Head Boy for the 2020/2021 academic year and Avni Patel and Hrishi Guruprasad were voted in as Deputy Head Girl and Deputy Head Boy. Well done to all those who put themselves forward and confidently stood before their peers, delivering their speeches to the staff and pupils of Year 6.
