  • Visit by Paul Jackson - Storyteller

    Fri 01 Jul 2022

This week we have been lucky enough to have had a visit from the storyteller called Paul Jackson.  Each class had the opportunity to go over to the roundhouse to listen to Paul tell stories and play a range of different multicultural instruments.  The children hung to his every word as they went with him on magical journeys.  At times they laughed, at other moments they jumped in shock but throughout they were mesmerised by the powerful, rich language used to bring the stories to life in their imagination.  We felt very privileged to be the final school that he will visit as he now makes more time to focus on writing his books.

  • Year 5 Maths Challenge

    Tue 14 Jun 2022

On Tuesday of this week, four of our Mathematicians from Year 5 took part in a Maths Challenge at Reddiford school.  There was very steep competition from the other schools involved - these included Alpha and Quainton Hall.  Each school took two pairs of children and we are very proud to announce that our two sets of pairs came second and third - an amazing achievement considering some of the challenges involved Kenkens.

  • Music Evening

    Thu 26 May 2022

A real highlight of this week was our Live Music Evening.  Over one hundred of our musicians from Year 4 to Year 6 participated in this lovely occasion.  It was heart-warming to see the US Hall so full; the audience was entertained by such a wide variety of pieces.  Some of the highlights included,  Ode to Joy, 20th Century Boy, Sing from your Heart and, who could forget the Dance Club's version of Bad Habits.  The whole evening was compared beautifully by the Head Boy, Head Girl, Deputy Head Boy and Deputy Head Girl; didn't they do well!  Well Done to all of the children involved and thank you to Harrow Music Service's Teachers, our school adults who stayed to support the evening and of course you, the audience, for making the evening so special.  An evening to remember - that's for sure!

  • Gordon Brown Presentation Evening

    Wed 25 May 2022

On Wednesday evening the Year 4 pupils put together a fabulous show where they wrote scripts, designed dance routines and decided what images were to be shown of their Gordon Brown Experience. It was so lovely to have a hall full to the brim of parents and carers who clearly enjoyed the performance, with a tear or two in their eyes when the children performed 'Proud' at the end. It was a very memorable and special event, that really highlighted just how much fun the children had on their trip and how much they have grown since.

All of the team in Year 4 are proud of what the children achieved at The Gordon Brown Centre and in their performance on the night.
