After 11 years of being the head teacher at West Lodge First School and then the amalgamated West Lodge Primary School, Mrs James has retired.
We all enjoyed many celebrations at the end of term and wish her a long and happy retirement.
On Friday 12th June, 68 parents, children, parents and friends took part in the 9 mile Ladies in the Night charity walk raising funds for the Michael Sobell Hospice. It was a great night, with some people completing the walk in record time.
Over £6000 was raised for this very important charity.
On Friday 13th March, children at West Lodge raised money for Comic Relief. Children in Year 6 organised two Comic Relief shows, where one act from each class performed, all the children sung the Comic Relief School Song and joined in with a record breaking Macarena.
As well as donating £1 to wear red for the day, pupils also raised money by purchasing red noses and received money for Making Someone Smile.
Our final total raised for Comic Relief was a staggering - £1105.
Thank you to everyone who helped us to raised this impressive amount.
On Monday 15th December, the Upper School Carol Concert took place in Pinner Methodist Church. There was drama, dancing and singing and many parents joined with us for a special Christmas celebration.
Thank you to all the staff and children for their hard work with this event.
In the week beginning the 8th December, Years 4, 5 and 6 took part in the second Inter-house sports competition. This half termly event has been very popular with the children, with nearly three quarters of each year group taking part. Year 4's tournament was based around their lunchtime activity this term which was football, while Years 5 and 6 took part in mini games of hockey.
Thank you to George, Kristian and the sports captains, who organised the tournaments and referred all the games.
The winners this half term were Stuart.
Well done to everyone who took part.
